Prologue: A lie unfolding
Ten years. I've hid my lie for ten years from Carmelita. To anyone else, I could keep this up. I could easily continue living this lie, but to her... I've always managed to be truthful in the end, I realized. If I disguised myself, I left something to let her know it was me. But this isn't me.
I still miss my old pals. I use to watch the van races just to see how Murray was doing, and took up the case of trying to catch Bentley, just to see what he had planned next. Murray settled down, though. And Bentley hasn't been on the field as much. I just can't let go. I feel like I'm just wrapping more lies around my wif
Episode 1: The Cooper Gang
I couldn't bring myself to tell Kayly what I thought, because I didn't think her mother was coming home. Carmelita, she always had feeling for me. We both knew it, but she couldn't see more than that black and white outline to made for herself when it came to crime. And now? I was a thief again. No matter what I had tried to say.
Kay-Lyn... I told her the truth of the bedtime stories I would always tell her. That they had been my adventures before marrying Carmelita. She... accepted them. Almost with open arms. It made me realize, despite how much she looked like her mother, she had more then the face mark to show
Episode 2: Prowler in the Grass
And the gang was back together.
It was anything but old times. Murray dove with a ferocity I've never seen in him. Bentley was near panicking as he poured over his plans and research. And the kids... Where doing whatever we were. They sat in back, but they copied our positions. Patsy and Kayly were in front of Courtney. They were talking, while Courtney clicked away on a laptop.
I wasn't happy with bringing them along with us, but the look Kayly had given me back at Bentley's...
She needed her mother back as much as I needed my wife.
Bentley and Murray occasionally went into a conversation about how Penelo
Episode Three: Streets of Fright
Anxious is what Bentley said. My pacing around, my foot tapping while he was looking into where his own letter came from. I was being anxious.
I don't know what else I should be. I can't do anything while we travel. Murray got kidnapped while I was right there. We even went to try and get Helena, but she was gone as well. While we were traveling, Patsy just stared at the window, tears rolling down her cheeks.
It reminded me of the time Murray lost the van.
Kayly and Courtney demanded they stay with us. Patsy refused to be left out now that both her parents had been captured. She wanted to help get them bac
Episode 4: A Child's Game
Kay-Lyn sat on a box in the truck. She hugged the cane, watching the sun rise from the back of the truck. Patsy and Courtney had fallen asleep, but she wasn't able to. She was eight years old, and somehow had thought she could break six adults from an enemy's grasp.
"What are we thinking?" She muttered quietly.
The truck started to stop, and she squeaked. The fox climbed down and shook her companions awake. It took them several minutes to shake the sleep from their eyes, but they started to get everything together. Kay-Lyn left the cane on Bentley's wheelchair. She took a moment to sneak past the boxes they hid be
